At this year’s China International Adhesives & Sealants Exhibition (ASE China 2025), WACKER will display a series of adhesive solutions for consumer goods, construction, new energy, and other industries. Among the exhibits, a key highlight will be WACKER’s new generation α³ silane technology, which provides the adhesive industry with solutions featuring stronger overall performance. At the same time, WACKER will also showcase a star product designed specifically for paper packaging adhesives—VINNAPAS®EP 921, which excels in bonding strength, heat resistance, workability, and other aspects. ASE China 2025 will be held from September 17 to 19 in Shanghai.
With China's ongoing industrial advancement, the market demands higher performance standards for adhesive products, including reliability and eco-friendliness. Among different materials, silane-modified polymers have become a popular choice for sealant applications due to their versatility, broad adhesion capabilities, and eco-friendly properties. In line with market needs, WACKER has developed its proprietary α-silane technology and continues to advance it through ongoing innovation.
" α³ is WACKER’s new generation silane technology. It enables rapid curing without the need for tin catalysts, giving adhesive products better environmental performance and easier storage. Additionally, it offers higher elasticity and shorter curing times compared with previous α technologies," Chen Xiaolong, Senior Technical Engineer at WACKER China, explains.
At ASE China 2025, WACKER will introduce two new silane-modified polymer products: GENIOSIL®STP-E140 and STP-E340. Both binders are based on WACKER’s state-of-the-art α³ technology. The polymers in question consist of both α and γ-silyl groups. The α-silyl groups lead to greater reactivity, while the slower-reacting γ ends have a positive impact on elastic recovery. This innovative technology thus combines the advantages of both α and γ-silane-crosslinking polyethers.
Just like a conventional α-silane-terminated polymer, the combination of two silanes in a terminated polyether does not require a tin catalyst for curing. During crosslinking, the highly reactive α end literally pulls in the γ end into the swifter curing process, which generally displays slower reactivity. After crosslinking, GENIOSIL®STP-E 140 and GENIOSIL®STP-E 340 are highly elastic. Application tests show that the silane-terminated polyethers adhere to a wide range of varying substrates. They can be applied in high-performance, multifunctional adhesives as well as high elastic recovery adhesives.

During the exhibition, WACKER will also showcase a new product for paper packaging adhesives: VINNAPAS®EP 921.
A high-performance vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion, VINNAPAS®EP 921 delivers excellent bonding performance. It performs particularly well on difficult-to-bond substrates such as coatings, UV inks, and plastic films, ensuring strong adhesion. Furthermore, VINNAPAS®EP 921 exhibits outstanding heat resistance and workability, maintaining reliable bonding performance even in high-temperature environments and demonstrating excellent anti-splashing properties during roller coating.
In terms of environmental performance, VINNAPAS®EP 921 is APEO-free, with low volatile organic compounds (VOC) content and minimal odor, meeting modern green production requirements.
VINNAPAS®EP 921 is suitable for various paper packaging adhesives, including paper bags, cartons, envelopes, and bookbinding.
WACKER will also host three technical presentations during ASE China 2025, introducing the exhibited products and their applications.
