Needham Ink Technologies announced the launch of a groundbreaking light blue continuous Inkjet (CIJ) ink, setting a new benchmark in print durability and reliability for outdoor applications.

The inspiration for this ink stemmed from a real-world challenge faced by one of Needham Ink Tech’s clients. In an industrial landscape heavily reliant on outdoor storage and operations, the susceptibility of standard OEM inks to fading under sunlight posed a significant obstacle. This challenge prompted Needham Ink Technologies to develop a customized solution.

"Our customer faced a vexing problem: their current OEM printer ink was susceptible to fading when exposed to sunlight," said GM Steve Holmes. "Codes were gradually disappearing, compromising operational efficiency and potentially causing errors."

In response to this challenge, Needham Ink Tech’s team of specialists embarked on a project to develop a custom CIJ ink formulation explicitly tailored to withstand the photodegradation experienced by the existing ink.

The crux of the innovation lay in addressing the issue of sunlight-induced fading. By incorporating specially engineered blue pigments into the ink formulation, Needham Ink Technologies pioneered a approach that offers unparalleled resistance to sunlight, ensuring longevity and legibility of the printed codes even in outdoor settings.
