2024-06-05 08:44
The move is intended to drive forward the development of new products, coating processes and customised production processes.

Plantag Coatings from Detmold has opened its new technical centre. This marks a significant step for the company to drive forward the development of new products, coating processes and customised production processes and to further expand its technical capabilities.
The new technical centre is not only a place for testing and development, but also a space for collaboration and innovation in surface technology. It is intended to provide an ideal environment for developing and optimising innovative products together with customers from the furniture industry and trade. The Technical University of East Westphalia-Lippe (TH OWL) also utilises the technical equipment of the Detmold-based paint manufacturer in an intensive cooperation.
Over the past 15 years, Plantag has regularly hosted internships for the Wood Surface Technology course in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. The new technical centre now offers even better conditions for this.
The technical centre is equipped with a large number of state-of-the-art machines and devices, including surface sanding machines, automatic surface spraying machines, filling machines, roller application machines, various types of UV dryers, a coating booth for manual application, an ESH system and fusion UV dryers. Other facilities such as laboratory drying cabinets, a test laboratory and woodworking machines round off the wide range of possibilities.
