Arendt succeeds Dr Franz Richter, who was appointed by the Supervisory Board to head the company for one year. Dr Franz Richter is now returning to his role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He has extensive experience in international industrial companies. Most recently, Dr Richter, who holds a doctorate in industrial engineering, was Managing Director of the German subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc. a supplier to the semiconductor industry. Prior to that, Arendt worked at Süss MicroTec for 15 years, including as Head of the Lithography Business Unit and as Managing Director of Süss Photonic Systems, Corona, USA.
