ALTANA AG, UB FIGG Invest in NORDTREAT

The Finnish sustainability fund UB Forest Industry Green Growth Fund (UB FIGG) and the speciality chemicals group Altana are investing in the technology company Nordtreat.
The company specialises in the development and production of innovative, high-performance and environmentally friendly fire retardants. Nordtreat specialises in bio-based raw materials.
Founded in 2015, Nordtreat has since continued to expand its product and service portfolio for bio-based, environmentally friendly fire retardants. In addition to the investment by UB FIGG and Altana, the company also agreed to develop bio-based flame retardant additives with Altana’s BYK division. We see a growing demand for bio-based solutions for flame retardant additives,” says BYK division head Dr Jörg Hinnerwisch.
