Avery Dennison new Volt Tough™ portfolio of insulative, single-sided filmic tapes offers electrical insulation solutions for cooling components (plates, fins, ribbons), structural components (module side plates, pack enclosure), busbar and cell connection systems, and heat spreaders. The tapes were created to help in the prevention of electrical arcing, which is crucial for the performance, durability and safety of EV battery packs.
The EV battery tape solutions offer options including comformability, high abrasion-resistance, color variations for vision inspection systems, flame-retardancy for UL® 94 and other flame requirements, and dielectric breakdown strength options ranging from 3kV to 10+kV according to the company.
