allnex, a global leader in coating resins, announces a groundbreaking innovation for the Textile & Leather (including artificial leather) industry. Energy curable resins are poised to transform the way we coat and protect textile and leather substrates, offering significant environmental benefits and performance advantages.
Traditional coating systems in the Textile & Leather industry have relied on thermal curing processes using solvent borne and water borne polyurethane dispersions (PUDs). However, these methods come with drawbacks such as high energy consumption, the physical drying step consumes substantial energy, regulatory constraints and the use of organic solvents such as N,N-Dimethylformamide are facing increasing regulatory scru tiny due to environmental and health concerns.
The allnex solution introduces game-changing energy curable resins. By switching from thermo-curing to radiation-curing formulations (ultraviolet – UV or electron beam – EB), the Textile & Leather industry can achieve remarkable benefits with energy savings ranging from 70-80%, significantly reducing operational costs and CO2 footprint reduction of the coating process! In addition, energy curable resins eliminate the need for hazardous organic solvents.
Introduction of EBECRYL® 8466
Specially designed for topcoats on artificial leather, allnex introduces EBECRYL® 8466, a tin-free aliphatic urethane acrylate with outstanding performance in durability, flexibility and excellent adhesion.
In addition, the allnex line of products also includes :
UCECOAT® 2807, a primer for Textile & Leather substrates:
UCECOAT® 7630, a topcoat solution, enhancing both aesthetics and protection.
