Product Description

SILRES^® BS POWDER A is a highly effective silicone water repellent additive in powder form.

Application

SILRES^®BS POWDER A is an excellent special product for improving waterproofness and water resistance of inorganic building materials such as dry-mix mortars, joint mortars and cement-based powder coatings (SILRES^®BS POWDER G is recommended for ordinary gypsum). Mortar products produced according to the appropriate formula can show the following excellent properties: - Low water absorption; - Excellent water beading effect; - Not easy to stain; - Durability. SILRES^®BS POWDER A can be used in both dry powder systems and liquid systems. Therefore, it can also be used to make wet or mud materials, such as fiber cement or calcium silicate boards, non-load-bearing concrete materials and aerated concrete.

Construction process

 In the process of dry powder products such as dry-mix mortar, joint mortar and powder coating, add SILRES^® BS POWDER A and mix it evenly with the dry powder material.

Excellent and durable waterproofing properties can be achieved by adding 0.1-0.5% of SILRES®BS POWDER A to the total dry powder. After adding sufficient water, mixing can be done manually or by machine. Since manual mixing has low shear forces, it is recommended to let the mortar stand for 5 minutes after mixing and then mix it a second time. Storage In dry mixtures with hydrated binders, fillers and pigments, SILRES^®BS POWDER A will have better storage stability because these materials prevent agglomeration. However, attention should still be paid to moisture  protection of such mixtures.
