
PPG Partners with Xiaomi EV to Co-develop Exclusive Automotive Paint Colors

BEIJING, Oct. 17, 2025 – PPG (NYSE: PPG) announced its collaboration with Xiaomi EV on the newly launched “100 Colors Project,” an ambitious initiative aimed at redefining automotive personalization. As part of Xiaomi’s Customization Service, the project will introduce 100 exclusive paint colors over the next three years, co-developed with leading global coatings suppliers.
PPG was selected as a key partner in the program and contributed to the development of the first five custom colors. These include the standout Amethyst Purple, distinguished by its deep luster and unique visual character, offering Xiaomi customers a premium and personalized aesthetic.

At the launch event, Xiaomi EV revealed its ambitious plan to offer a more personalized experience for YU7 owners. In collaboration with leading global partners, the company will design 100 exclusive car paint colors over the next three years. This initiative aims to empower every customer to choose a shade that truly reflects their personality and style, reinforcing Xiaomi EV’s commitment to innovation and individual expression.

Its innovative Digital Styling Program allows designers to simulate how colors and effects appear on virtual car models – both exterior and interior. This approach enhances remote collaboration with OEM design teams, streamlining the evaluation and integration of new color concepts into vehicle development processes.
