Innovation through partnership
In partnership with IPG, AkzoNobel will showcase laser-based curing technology, which selectively applies laser energy to enable faster curing cycles, improved process control and reduced overall energy input. A live powder coating application and laser curing demonstration will take place every hour at the booth, allowing visitors to see the technology in action and explore its potential for greater efficiency and flexibility in powder coating operations. Further background on the IPG Photonics and AkzoNobel Powder Coatings partnership is available in a related article: AkzoNobel bonds with IPG Photonics over laser curing for powder coatings.

Designing for what’s next
Architectural powder coatings are increasingly expected to support bold design intent while maintaining visual quality and performance over decades of exposure. A key highlight at PaintExpo will be the Futura Collection 2026–2029, a four-year architectural colour trends collection developed to reflect emerging global design. Alongside Futura, AkzoNobel will showcase Interpon Précis Ultra Matt, creating ultra matt surfaces with a subtle glint of brilliance and luminescence that allows light to move across fa?ades and bring architectural concepts to life. The architectural offer is further strengthened by an extended Interpon D2525 Anodic range, delivering the refined appearance of anodized aluminium with superdurable performance. Together, these developments underline how powder coatings continue to support both creative ambition and long-term exterior durability.

Performance for demanding mobility
Performance remains equally critical in mobility applications, where powder coatings protect components exposed to extreme mechanical and environmental stress. Interpon solutions are widely used on wheels, springs and underbody parts, ensuring corrosion resistance and durability in harsh operating conditions. As vehicle electrification accelerates, the Resicoat portfolio adds another dimension, offering high-performance electrical insulation powder coatings engineered for batteries, motors and related components, supporting safety, reliability and long-term performance in electric vehicles.

Sustainability that strengthens productivity
Efficiency and environmental performance are increasingly interconnected. Through its Eco+ portfolio, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings will highlight solutions that reduce curing energy, lower material consumption or simplify application processes without compromising durability. From single-layer corrosion systems to optimized low-energy curing and thin-film technologies, the focus is on solutions that deliver measurable environmental benefits while strengthening operational efficiency. Visitors are invited to join AkzoNobel Powder Coatings at PaintExpo 2026, taking place 14–17 April in Karlsruhe, Germany, and explore the latest advances in powder coating technology at Booth #3420.
